Hello, and welcome to the bi-monthly newsletter for Australian NBA Basketball trading card collectors, NBA Trading Card Collectors Corner. This publication is free to all and proudly presented by your only place for NBA Basketball Hobby boxes, packs and supplies, DGCollectables.

Recent NBA Trading Card Releases

The 2014/15 preseason has commenced with much anticipation surrounding the fabled rookie class of 2014 including Andrew Wiggins, Jabari Parker, Dante Exum and Joel Embiid. Three recent NBA card releases included 2013/14 Panini Immaculate Collection, 2013/14 Panini National Treasures and 2014/15 Panini Hoops.

2013/14 Panini Immaculate Collection Basketball was a highly anticipated product with each hobby box on average containing 5 autographs or memorabilia cards and 1 base card. This super high-end set features some of the best rookie patch autographs of the season. Also included in this product are massive Prime Swatches from all over the best current NBA player’s jersey: The Nameplate, Jersey Number, Team Logo, Patches and Insignias. Also littered throughout this set are NBA Logoman autographs of the today’s top players and hottest rookies. Inserts in this product include Logoman Autographs, Rookie Logoman Autographs Booklets, Rookie Patch Autographs, Insignias, Nameplate Nobility and Sole of the Game.

2013/14 Panini National Treasures Basketball is Panini’s flagship high-end release. This product was released in August 2014. Each hobby box on average contains 8 autographs or memorabilia cards, 1 printing plate, 1 base or parallel card, 1 pack and 10 cards per pack. This release features the iconic Rookie Patch Autographs from members of the 2013 NBA Rookie Class. An innovative idea for this product is the inclusion and debut of Sneaker Swatches, featuring pieces of game-worn shoes from retired and current NBA stars. Chase cards include Logoman patches of the game’s biggest stars, as well as Dual and Trio Laundry Tag cards serially numbered to 5 or less.

The first NBA trading card product for the 2014/15 season was released in the form of 2014/15 Panini Hoops Basketball. Each hobby box on average comprises two autographs, one memorabilia card, 24 packs and 12 cards per pack. Each hobby pack features one rookie card on average. Insert sets include Roads to the Finals, Hoops Red Hot Signatures, Highlights and Kobe’s All-Rookie Team. This is the first officially licensed NBA trading card set to feature rookie cards from the much-anticipated 2014 draft class.

Upcoming NBA Trading Card Releases


Two anticipated releases in the NBA trading card scene include 2014/15 Panini Prizm Basketball and 2014/15 Panini Totally Certified Basketball.

2014/15 Panini Prizm Basketball is expected to be another popular set with each hobby box comprising on average a rookie autograph card, 14 Prizm cards, 2 SP cards and 2 insert cards. This product is slated to be released on the 26th November 2014 and will comprise 20 packs and 5 cards per pack in each hobby box. Hobby boxes will feature exclusive Prizm cards including purple die-cuts (numbered to 139), blue (numbered to 99), red (numbered to 49), gold (numbered to 10) and black (numbered to 1). SP cards are a new feature in this product with each hobby box on average including two.

2014/15 Panini Totally Certified Basketball is expected to be released on the 12th November 2014 and will comprise 4 packs and 5 cards per pack. Each hobby box on average will include one autograph card, three memorabilia cards and four parallel cards. Each hobby box on average will feature one autograph or memorabilia card and one colour parallel. Chase cards include Mirror parallels on holographic card stock, Multi-Swatch Epix cards, see-through clear cloth jersey cards, on-card rookie signatures in Roll Call autographs and 20 SP variation cards.
